The BIIRGS AI² Fellowship is a twelve-week online Fellowship bringing together cross-sector leaders, practitioners, researchers, and civic thinkers to examine complex questions at the intersection of artificial intelligence, human behavior, institutions, and society.
The Fellowship combines rigorous inquiry with practical application. Fellows are expected to participate actively, evaluate evidence critically, learn across disciplines, and develop work relevant to their field, institution, or community.
Participation requires one scheduled 90-minute online session each week, joining the cohort for discussion and guided learning, plus 4–5 hours of independent reading, research, and capstone development. The total expected commitment is 5.5–6.5 hours per week.
Every Fellow must develop an individual applied capstone project and present it at the concluding virtual symposium. Both the project and presentation are required components of the Fellowship.
Orientation is expected in January 2027, followed by the twelve-week learning program from February through April 2027. The virtual symposium is expected in May 2027, following the learning program.
