Strategic Leadership | Provide strategic guidance and oversight to BIIRGS, ensuring alignment with our mission, Impact Initiatives (II), and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. |

Nonprofit Governance | Ensure BIIRGS operates with transparency, accountability, and in compliance with legal and ethical standards, upholding the principles of good governance. |
Advocacy & Representation | Serve as an ambassador for BIIRGS, promoting our work and mission to external stakeholders, including corporate clients, policymakers, and the broader community. |
Financial Stewardship | Contribute to the financial oversight of the organization, ensuring that resources are managed effectively and sustainably. |
Impact Monitoring | Oversee the measurement and evaluation of The BIIRGS’s Impact Initiatives. |
Fundraising & Resource Mobilization | Support fundraising efforts by leveraging personal and professional networks to attract donors, partners, and sponsors. |
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion | Promote a culture of belonging within The BIIRGS and in all external engagements. |
Collaboration | Work closely with fellow Trustees, the Executive Director, and BIIRGS’s leadership team to ensure the organization’s objectives are met. |
Time Commitment:
Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings (which can be virtual), participate in sub-committees as needed, and engage in ongoing communication with the Executive Director and other board members. The estimated time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours per month.
Compensation:
This is a volunteer role, and while Trustees will not receive financial compensation, they will join a dynamic organization deeply committed to enhancing global well-being and Quality of Life. Trustees will have the exceptional opportunity to leverage their expertise in a meaningful way, shape transformative initiatives, and collaborate with visionary leaders in a mission-driven environment. This role offers significant personal and professional fulfillment through impactful contributions to global change and sustainable development.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Previous board or trustee experience is preferred. A strong background in nonprofit governance, corporate leadership, or public policy related to our focus areas is highly desirable.
Expertise: In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas of:
Gender Parity: Expertise in gender equality advocacy, particularly within boards, corporate settings, political leadership, or related policy areas.
Climate Action: Proven track record in environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation strategies.
Employee Forum Series: Deep understanding of technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and its impact on the workplace, future of work trends, and related areas.
Nonprofit Management: Proven success in leading or advising nonprofit organizations. |
Fundraising and Development: Demonstrated ability to secure funding for nonprofit initiatives. |
Corporate Social Responsibility: Expertise in integrating social impact into corporate strategies. |
Public Policy and Advocacy: Strong understanding of relevant policy areas related to BIIRGS's focus and the ability to influence policy change. |
Commitment: A strong commitment to the mission and values of BIIRGS, with a passion for advancing the UN SDGs and our specific initiatives. |
Leadership: Proven ability to think strategically, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational success. |
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences. |
Networking: Well-connected within diverse sectors, including STEM, with the ability to build and leverage relationships to support BIIRGS’s mission. |
